Mochlos Sitia Crete Greece

Mochlos is a traditional village 35km west of Sitia. Mochlos is situated opposite from the archaeological site of St. Nicholas islet with the homonym chapel. The islet is 150m from the village there are boat trips that can get you there. 

The village of Mochlos is an ideal destination for relaxing holidays, away from the daily stress, and retains the traditional elements of Crete intact. The very friendly villagers, originating from the villages of Sfaka, Tourloti, Lastros and Myrsini will make you feel very familiar with them from the very first day.

The locals organize several events such as fishing contests and if you're lucky, you might meet and participate in some of the events.

Along the coastal road of the village there are a few traditional taverns and cafes where you can taste fresh fish, traditional Cretan food and enjoy your drinks. Mochlos taverns are famous all over Crete for their tasteful and specialties. 

In front of the coastal road of the village, you will find the small sandy beach of Mochlos with the crystal clear waters. The beach is no organized but there are the basic facilities.
